Musescore has a licensing problem (conflict between GPL-2.0 and Apache). The developers are looking into this with the intention to solve this (probably by replacing the problematic library). So there will be some delay before it becomes part of Factory.
There is also the trick, that (LGPL) ffmpeg did to include GPL libraries like liba52 - that is use libdl to check at runtime for the required library, so it is technically not part of its code (or in GPL terms, ffmpeg is not a "derived work" of liba52) But (as always in law) there might be different opinions on this...
Thanks. I hope it is not necessary. According to the developers the apache licensed library is not actually used in the current 2.3.2 version and can be removed. They provided a patch which is now part of the SR awaiting legal review. They planned on using it in the coming 3.0 version, but are now looking for alternatives. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
