But, as mentioned above, there are no instructions on "needing to post in the list" . . . and it seems like this behavior is **unique** to the new server for the list-serve?? In gmail there is no option for "reply to list" . . . just reply or "reply all."
Anyway, I am modifying my anti-list behaviors . . . by posting directly within the list . . . now here in this errant thread.
I think the problem is that you are replying to the digest mail, which does not conserve the mail thread. I would advice to disable the digest and use a mail client that supports threads and allows to mark whole threads as read. Then even high volume lists are easy to read.
