How to join the meeting? https://calendar.opensuse.org/teams/release/events/opensuse-release-engineer... All meeting minutes can be found here: https://etherpad.opensuse.org/p/ReleaseEngineering-meeting ## Attendees: lkoman, DimStar, rbrown, DocB, Ana, Doug, Sarah, wengel NOTICE! the meeting url is https://meet.opensuse.org/meeting ## Leap Leap 16.0 builds are now synced to openQA. https://openqa.opensuse.org/group_overview/126 Many thanks to Andrii, Max, Dee, Oliver and Santi. Next steps is to create needles for Agama based install, probably start from scratch (or copy boot to desktop). I'm not much in favor of reusing https://openqa.opensuse.org/group_overview/116. Official agama test suite will use pupeteer which will probably take quite some time to develop. Nice progress on branding we have received vector of mountain && tent from TamarG. Since then three were quite some experiments with it https://github.com/openSUSE/branding/issues/155#issuecomment-2241145020 ## openSUSE Tumbleweed (ana) openSUSE:Factory build fail stats: 18 failed 26 unresolvable (last week 18 failed, 23 unresolvable) https://tinyurl.com/ysy4nnnz No snapshot published since last wednesday because some issues with sdbootutils first and later technical issues. Hopefully we'll have a Tumbleweed update ( later today) ~460 requests accepted in the last week Most relevant updates: automake 1.17 Plasma 6.1.3 Mozilla Firefox 128.0 (remeber to update the privacy settings) fmt 11 (fmt 10 still around as fmt-10 ) Linux Kernel Longterm 6.6.40 and 6.6.41 python-Sphinx 7.4.5 go1.23 (initial upload, not default) transactional-updates (with disabled soft-reboot by default) Soon: Linux Kernel 6.10 libcrypt (build updated) meson 1.5.0 cmake 3.30.1 Blocked: systemd - (https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1227580) libzypp - breaks yast2, needs some research & filing bug python312 (FTBFS: python-xmlschema, python-Twisted:test) lkocman: branding question for logo etc related Leap wallpaper changes dimstar: let's wait until the branding situation around project is clarified ### longer-lasting topics GCC 14: second phase ongoing, use gcc14 as the default compiler (Staging:Gcc7): 14 failed, 9 unresolvable go1.22 as default go version, blocked on i586 with packages which export CGO_ENABLED=0 and go build -buildmode pie https://github.com/golang/go/issues/64875 traking at https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1221095 - only waiting for transactional-update-notifier fixed on i586 dbus-broker as default dbus session manager, now everything builds, some openQA checks failing. ## Richard (Aeon+botmaster) tik v1.2 development progressing nicely. Full Disk Encryption branch appears to be feature complete, with both Default Mode (TPM bound) and Fallback more (passphrases) implimented Last manual testing underway before merging and submitting to Factory. Will require changes to images and confinement tooling, some of which are already submitted. https://en.opensuse.org/Portal:Aeon/Encryption and https://en.opensuse.org/Portal:Aeon/Encryption/Advanced being continually updated as things development Aeon RC3 will be declared as soon as tik v1.2 is released in Factory Aeon RC4 will be functionally identical to RC3, but will be investigating an alternative installation approach which may avoid the need for confining images. If this does not work, RC3 will be the framework for release, with openQA tests being written around it. https://aeondesktop.org/ and all Aeon documentation now using "openSUSE-less" branding. Aeon-release needs to be updated to match. ## Max (AWAY TODAY) ## Guillaume - Arm (AWAY TODAY) ## Sarah - s390x Tumbleweed: * new release * mariadb updated ## Doug * openSUSE.Asia Summit * CfP is open until August 4 * 37 Submission (+4 from last week) * openSUSE Conference * Some more videos released https://www.youtube.com/@openSUSE/videos * TSP * Asia Summit deadline is August 20 * Marketing materials * Items for Italy and Bosnia * Geekos recieved more donations to support Asia Summit at TSP (Thank you SUSE) * KDE Akademy sponsors talk & networking event * Program at https://akademy.kde.org/2024/program/ * Infra * July 23's outage summary can be found at https://status.opensuse.org/ (Thank you heroes & to those who helped) * GSoC * Finals will be August 26 - Sept. 2 (For most) * Linux Days (linuxdays.cz) in Prague in October (largest Linux event in Czechia) co organized by SUSE. This currently seems to block Public Cloud since the repository size is is very large (~223GB) so customers are already reporting this. Several bug reports for Package Hub for SLE-15-SP6 are coming in, mainly because of missing dependencies. ## Maintenance team (Marcus, Robert) Struggle with 15 SP6 openQA side. Robert and Marcus will talk to Richard Fan. Chromium updates are flowing in. * one snapper issue waiting for kernel fix. We need a help from QE. ## Adrian - OBS * We're still having reports with missing data after yesterdays storage situation. ## Bernhard - Slowroll Not available ## Bernhard - reproducible builds ## Open Floor
