I don't even get the white screen I just get a black screen with a cursor arrow.
The boot process ends at setting up the locale. What is quite strange is that many of the boot messages are getting output in duplicate.
Doing the broken login screen does nothing as well nor does systemctl restart display-manager.
I've tried every hint in this and the last thread -- still have to roll back to 20171228 release.
try: rm /usr/lib/systemd/user/sockets.target.wants/dbus.socket
if that works, add comment to: https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1020363
