I forgot how to get to init3...?
While booting, put a 3 on the Boot options line.
Considering the context of the entire thread, I have to think what he was really after was remembering how to get to a tty, not to reboot without starting X: Ctrl-Alt-Fx. Since a few days I am getting the same login problems too. I am using an encrypted /home-partition and get these error messages: 2012-10-28T20:17:47.937924+01:00 lthendrik systemd[1]: Job dev-mapper-cr_ata\x2dST9500420AS_5VJ92AFR\x2dpart7.device/start timed out. 2012-10-28T20:17:47.937953+01:00 lthendrik systemd[1]: Job fsck@dev-mapper-cr_ata\x2dST9500420AS_5VJ92AFR\x2dpart7.service/start failed with result 'dependency'. 2012-10-28T20:17:47.939005+01:00 lthendrik systemd[1]: Job dev-mapper-cr_ata\x2dST9500420AS_5VJ92AFR\x2dpart7.device/start failed with result 'timeout'.
As a workaround I switch to a text console (Ctrl-Alt-F1), login as root and issue "mount -a". After that, the /home-partition is mounted and I can login into KDE (after Ctrl-Alt-F7). regards, Hendrik -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
