If you ignore *.rpmsave and *.rpmnew files for weeks this can happen to you every day again with any other version update.
How does one know that there are rpmnew files, apart from remembering to run `rpmconfigcheck` at regular intervals?
Running rpmconfigcheck and manually diffing the files is also pretty useless because most of the diffs are trivial changes in comments etc. I cannot understand why a required change to nsswitch.conf with potentially bigger impact was not announced here. I vaguely remembered discussions about the transition to /usr/etc but I was not aware that it happens now.
