Hi, I just discovered a problem in ubuntu that most likely is in suse as well: POSIX requires for char -> wchar_t translations: In the POSIX locale an [EILSEQ] error cannot occur since all byte values are valid characters. but e.g. mbstowcs() aborts in the "C" locale when a non 7-bit ASCII character is discovered in the source string.
