Indeed, it is here:
rpm -q --changelog konsole | head -n 8
* Wed Aug 18 2021 Antonio Larrosa <alarrosa@suse.com> - Add patch from upstream to fix KXmlGUI toolbars and Konsole
MainWindow size (kde#436471, kde#430036, kde#439339, boo#1188074): * 0001-Fix-KXmlGUI-toolbars-and-konsole-MainWindow-size.patch
- Add patch from upstream to fix the MainWindow size when there is
no saved size (like the first time a user runs Konsole) (kde#437791): * 0001-Fix-MainWindow-size-when-there-is-no-saved-size.patch
So I suppose this change caused your problem now?
Maybe you experience what Ahmad Safir wrote meanwhile, i.e. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441610 ?
(From the bug report) STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. open a konsole window 2. resize it 3. switch to a different virtual desktop 4. switch back
I am not using OpenBox but yes, this is one of the issues if we add an extra step:
0. remove .config/konsolerc
That's a bit weird, because once you open a konsole for the very first time, konsolerc will be created.
The other issue is that the default size (the one that I get at the first run of konsole) is the absurdly large one.
That's a side-effect of the long text on the toolbars, if you hide the toolbars from the Settings menu, it should go away.
A workaround that I found is: resize the konsole manually, and exit to force the creation of a new .config/konsolerc. With that seems that changing desktops keeps the new size.
