xpdf
Talking as a security person I wouldn't recommend shiping that anymore at all as it would be one less place of xpdf code.
And what should I use to read PDFs *fast* without starting a plethora of daemons in the background? I use it for my daily work, please keep that on DVD. And the xpdf-tools are very useful, too.
I know, I use it too. Nevertheless xpdf security updates were anything but a picnic in the past so the less packages with xpdf code the better. Ideally even xpdf itself would use poppler which is an attempt to have xpdf code only in one central library.
I fear that xpdf-tools are required for next, upcoming CUPS versions, as there is the accepted opinion that PDF (and no more PostScript) will be the internal transport format for CUPS. xpdf-tools will be required then for debugging such files.
