I am preparing awesome-opensuse theme package along with the customized rc.lua and I would be happy to incorporate all or parts of your settings as it fits. However if nothing shows up well hope you enjoy what is offered ;) Make that awesome-branding-openSUSE and split away That sounds better thanks for the hint.
awesom-branding-upstream to follow our policies. So if I understand right, the default themes, and the default rc.lua stuff should awesome-branding-upstream subpackage of the awesome package.
And one more thing: do not copy distribution artwork into your package, but add a subpackage to branding-openSUSE with what you need from artwork and then require that subpackage in your awesome-branding-openSUSE. Otherwise updating distribution artwork is just too complex. Here you got me sort of lost, but maybe when I am actually doing the thing I'll get it. But roughly I need to branch branding-openSUSE; add a subpackage that is using the artwork from branding-openSUSE sources.
And then require this new subpackage of branding-openSUSE in awesome-branding-openSUSE.
Hope I'll be able to work it out.
