What Richard Brown said. If you need latest and greatest, use Tumbleweed. It is not Fedora Rawhide, which is said to eat your babies (not sure, whether it is still so bad). There are plenty of people who use it even for the production installations. SLE (and Leap) is for those who don't care about the latest and greatest, but prefer stability.
