Hello together, we have got build failures with PostgreSQL14 on s390x at the moment. That was looking like a gcc bug and I have forwarded that to IBM. I can reproduce this issue on my mainframe vm with following commands:
osc co openSUSE:Factory:zSystems/postgresql14 cd openSUSE\:Factory\:zSystems/postgresql14/ osc build --vm-type=kvm --vm-memory=4G
IBMers are in the worst case situation, that it is difficult to receive VMs based on openSUSE. Therefore, the Developer has been using Fedora 33 as a foundation (Fedora 35 has been released in the last weeks). Fistly, he tried it with the latest openSUSE Tumbleweed container image to reproduce this issue. Afterwards, he has tested it with osc commands above. He does not receive the linker/TLC bug error messages as described in the following bug report: https://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=103364 Is there any build dependency to the sub operating system (kernel or qemu based)? I know, that we are using latest packages and software in comparison to Fedora 33. But what else can be the reason, that the osc command does not have the same results? Best regards, Sarah
