I meant no fancy pretty "xcreensaver-esque" screen savers.
I know I could use actual "xscreensavers", but it has too many integration issues and I really don't like having to leave system settings to play with screen savers.
Plasma 5 developers deliberately made the decision not to integrate xcreensaver modules.
I could make my screen go blank (actual screensaver), but what I am looking for is a KDE plasma5 integrated bouncing cow (and I would like the option to set DRI_PRIME=1 to have it rendered on my secondary GPU)! I guess a "Just blank when on battery" would be nice because some screensavers really suck down the power (but who cares, they look nice).
Unfortunately, after reading the blog about the decision, I am pretty sure it isn't going to change. It really is a first-world-issue though. Not a deal breaker for an otherwise amazing distro.

I am using my recently updated laptop now...
It was 13.1, now it is Tumbleweed. [...] Except for Plasma 5's lack of screen savers,
xset +dpms xset dpms 300 400 500 xset s on
man xset
also there is xscreensaver

xset has nothing to do with xscreensaver. But you might have learned that if you had bothered. -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
