It would've really helped if somebody just said what packages to lock until I'm ready to make the switch. As it is I can't update anything before I've made sure that Plasma 5 will work for me.
On TW installations I want to keep on v4, I've been using the following prior to zypper dup, with apparent success:
zypper al kf5* kdm* kdebase4* konsole* ksnapshot* kcalc* konqueror* kde-oxygen-fonts kded* kmenuedit* kwin* libqt* qtcurve* qt4* sddm breeze* qtcurve-qt5 kmix libkonq5 kde4-kgreeter-plugins
To get it, on the first such system I just kept answering cancel instead of letting zypper dup proceed, and adding locks until the conflicts stopped.
An attempt to update produces conflicts for plasma-nm-* packages, BTW.
I have only fixed IP installations, so no use for *nm*.
Looks like I'm going to have to abandon TW (sniff), because I can't have my box turning into a useless pile of shite like it did this morning. This plasma5/breeze thing doesn't even work remotely properly here, konsole segfaults at startup as my session is being restored. Not to mention the joy of finding that I'm seemingly no longer allowed to have a task bar (panel) with applications embedded in it that I can switch between. "Add to panel" option went away, so no more evolution, yast, etc icons waiting there ready for me to poke, and starting an application no longer does anything to the task bar, lovely application switching mechanism just.. went away unexpectedly. Wonderful release this, it completely obliterated my lovely workstation. -Mike -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
