Hello,
I plan to update syslog-ng in both 12.3 and 13.1 to version 3.4.5. It is already in Base:System and Factory for over a week and resolves all known problems in the syslog-ng 3.4 series.
The "problem" I have, that AFAIR one needs to refer to bugzilla tickets when preparing an update and I only have upstream bug reports about advanced configuration settings. These are not used in openSUSE by default, on the other hand might cause considerable head ache for those using the advanced features (log rewriting, patterndb message parsing, AMQP destination, etc.) and most people install syslog-ng for these features...
What is the proper way to prepare an update in this case?
To open a new bug report with a list of the upstream Bug IDs/Urls + Changelog and request an update (NEEDINFO to maintenance@opensuse.org).
