Hello,
I'd like to add two packages to Factory, libdbi and libdbi-drivers. Both were already available in Contrib, moving them to factory would enable me to add database support to syslog-ng.
URL : http://libdbi.sourceforge.net/ Summary : Database Independent Abstraction Layer for C Description : libdbi implements a database-independent abstraction layer in C, similar to the DBI/DBD layer in Perl. Writing one generic set of code, programmers can leverage the power of multiple databases and multiple simultaneous database connections by using this framework.
And libdbi-drivers provides the actual drivers for different databases (sqlite3, mysql, pgsql).
Both packages were around for a very long time and worked without any problems so far.
I tested it with syslog-ng and logging to database worked fine using libdbi and libdbi-drivers.
Bye,
Please let me know when it's in factory and we can kill the contrib project. It was originally created for bacula.
It's Philipp Thomas, who actually sent the submit request, so I don't get an immediate alert message, when it's in factory. I checked now the openSUSE commit list, and I still could not find a trace of libdbi. My sr against apparmor-profiles is also still waiting. I hope everything is all right with these submit requests, just things slowed down due to the coming milestone...
Foremost, there were no .changes files. Create some with "osc vc" and resubmit. I mailed peter nixon (who submitted from the devel project) and philipp, but forgot you. Second, it will take a bit to pass source code license review. Not sure how long, perhaps a week or so.
