Great work guys! Does this also mean that new installations of Tumbleweed will keep /var on its own subvolume? Mike On Tue, Nov 7, 2017 at 12:12 PM, Dominique Leuenberger / DimStar <dimstar@opensuse.org> wrote:

Just a heads up here:
Packages changed: rpm
=== Details ===
==== rpm ==== Subpackages: rpm-build rpm-devel
- Correct %post compatibility symlink for /usr/lib/sysimage/rpm - Remove usr-lib-rpmdb.patch - Add usr-lib-sysimage-rpm.patch to locate rpmdb to /usr/lib/sysimage/rpm after discussions with upstream - Migrates existing rpmdb in /var/lib/rpm to /usr/lib/sysimage/rpm - Add usr-lib-rpmdb.patch to locate rpmdb to /usr/lib/rpmdb - Migrates existing rpmdb in /var/lib/rpm to /usr/lib/rpmdb
This is the chance as was proposed and discussed in the last couple weeks, where RPM will move its database from /var/lib/rpm to /usr/lib/sysimage/rpm. We did quite some testing, found bugs in the migration, fixed them, tested more, and are quite confident that this will work for you all.
The most important for you might be to update some backup scripts, if you did something special with the RPM database.
Cheers Dominique
