[opensuse-factory] kde live iso build 574 kernel not getting installed

I downloaded the live iso and installed it. duringthe the kernel does not get installed. I worked around this by chroot /mnt launching yast . package manager and ticking kernel-desktop this is after changing the repo from http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/13.1-Milestone2/oss to factory and reinstalling the kernel.
