When you go to the openSUSE site to download the latest and bestest openSUSE creations you are given the choice of downloading Leap (of Faith) or Tumbleweed-
Correct.
"The makers' choice for sysadmins, developers and desktop users."
And if you click on Tumbleweed there is button with 'Learn more' where it is written: "Any user who wishes to have newer packages than are available in the openSUSE 13.2 repositories. This includes, but is not limited to, an updated Linux kernel, SAMBA, git, desktops, office applications and many other packages. Tumbleweed appeals to Power Users, Software Developers and openSUSE Contributors. If you require the latest software stacks and Integrated Development Environment or need a stable platform closest to *bleeding edge* Linux, Tumbleweed is the best choice for your." Moreover, there is another 'Learn more' button which leads to: https://en.opensuse.org/Portal:Tumbleweed where is the same thing is even more elaboretely explained. So, we appreciate your effort to move to Linux from Mac/Windows, but, otoh, one has to be aware there are Linux distributions which are tailored to less-experienced Linux users as well as to developers. There is e.g. Debian Stable which has a bit older software, but everything is working and there is Debian Sid which is meant for those who can recover from system breakages. Iow, imho it's not fair to accuse openSUSE devs when there are clear instructions which version is suitable for different users.
