Just to add another idea: instead of "fixing"/extending the existing bot, we could also introduce a new obs-service-doc_patch service:
- a "localonly" service which is automatically executed during "osc ci" - for each removed patch, a corresponding line is added to the *.changes file (so that the bot is happy) (unless a corresponding line/entry, which makes the bot happy, already exists) - for each added patch: analogous
Advantage: - the vdr maintainer could be happy because he can keep his changelog style (at least when adding _new_ entries) - the factory bot is happy
Writing such a service should be (probably) trivial.
Would this help?
I doubt it - the OP is not 'not able to cope with the request of adding patches' (he even received a changelog fixup by a community member for not having to do it himself - request was declined). So he will as much object a script adding the changelogs as he objected doing it himself or having somebody else do it. So, I'd say: don't go waste time writing such an obscure service.
