Just as the actual culprit when my attempted rollback died was *not* tumbleweed-cli, it was basically because zypper installs every single rpm in a separate transaction - which dies horribly when you try to downgrade essential libraries like glibc.
What actually needs fixing is how zypper uses rpm.
AS you follow this mailing list very actively, you are well aware of the two new test modes provided by zyppre, right? one of them being 'do it all in one transaction'. So zypper CAN do what you ask of it.
good to know - so tumbleweed-cli needs work after all, too. -- Mathias Homann Mathias.Homann@openSUSE.org OBS: lemmy04 Jabber (XMPP): lemmy@tuxonline.tech IRC: [Lemmy] on freenode and ircnet (bouncer active) telegram: https://telegram.me/lemmy98 keybase: https://keybase.io/lemmy gpg key fingerprint: 8029 2240 F4DD 7776 E7D2 C042 6B8E 029E 13F2 C102
