If you are interested in this project, create cards, issues and work on them. Next steps are to create good pattern [4] and branding [5]. And to push more packages to Factory (wofi).
Actually I think I packaged most of the popular tools from the sway ecosystem in the past.
Thank you! :) you did a great work!
Probably wofi is the only one left.
I saw that you maintain wofi in X11:Wayland, can you share what is still missing before it is submitted to Factory?
I need to update the package to use service files (as Source URL wouldn't work). See discussion under: https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/X11:Wayland/wofi
I took some time to create the sway pattern last week. It landed in Factory one week ago :-) [1] Feel free to open submit requests for improvements and polishing.
I have FTO this week and would be testing that pattern and my branding packages and will submit that to your pattern and Factory.
So try, migrate and have some fun with Sway and tell us if we could make it better.
Let's keep in mind Drew always stresses Sway should be run without a login manager in his opinion. It appears that GDM works fine now (but didn't in the past).
People who would like to have the "plain" method can just launch sway from TTY or autostart it upon login from a certain TTY like described in the sway wiki [2].
package has desktop file that lands into the correct location. So if ppl do use login manager that supports wayland sessions - they are covered For others there is doc.
