It doesn't hang. Patience is a virtue :-).
Might be true, but there must be a bug somewhere. I solved it by "zypper rm" all kernel-devel and kernel-source packages, which went like a charm, "zypper clean", to remove already downloaded packages, and "zypper in kernel-devel kernel-source", to install.
