Hello,
ever since kernel 4.17.1 showed up in a TW snapshot around two or three weeks ago, I am completely missing keyboard input already early in the boot phase. I.e. when the Plymouth screen shows I cannot hit a key to return to the text message screen, and after Plasma has booted up, I cannot type anything anywhere. The mouse works perfectly. this is a cheaper ASUS laptop, Intel Core i5.
Besides booting the earlier kernel I have no idea how to approach the problem or even which logs to look at for a previous boot.
I'd be very grateful for tips on how to obtain logs or debug this, or a link to a bug ticket if it is a known issue, I was not able to find one but my time is pretty limited and I need this machine for everyday work at the moment.
Thanks,
Edgar
This is the kind of email where you would have been much better creating a bug report against the kernel, the kernel team will be able to help you with this issue, you don't need to involve everyone on this list. -- Simon Lees (Simotek) http://simotek.net Emergency Update Team keybase.io/simotek SUSE Linux Adelaide Australia, UTC+10:30 GPG Fingerprint: 5B87 DB9D 88DC F606 E489 CEC5 0922 C246 02F0 014B
