Re: [opensuse-factory-mozilla][TW] scrollbar buttons missing in gtk2: all Firefox, mozilla.org's SeaMonkey

On P4 (32bit) host gx260 I just did final updates for 13.1 and 13.2, then zup'd TW to 20170310. Now on TW no matter which gtk2 build of SM or FF I open in TW (e.g. mozilla.org builds of FF45ESR or older or SM2.46), there are no scroll buttons, no matter which of Adwaita, Raleigh or Oxygen-gtk is selected for GTK There's now a 4th theme to select, Adwaita-Dark, but it's no better than the other three. Oxygen has historically been my preference and goto.
styles in KControl. All gtk3 builds have those buttons (e.g. SM2.48, FF52 & 53b2), but AFAICT that's only because of ~/.config/gtk-3.0/gtk.css containing:
*{ -GtkScrollbar-has-backward-stepper: 1; -GtkScrollbar-has-forward-stepper: 1; -GtkScrollbar-has-secondary-backward-stepper: 1; -GtkRange-stepper-size: 16; }
Are all KDE3 TW users missing these buttons in gtk2 apps? How about in gtk3?
My primary PC running 42.1/KDE3 has the buttons in all gtk2 versions of the Mozillas. Using host gx27c, I just checked again, and this remains a problem, but only with the Mozilla.org (GTK2) build of SeaMonkey 2.48, not with 2.48 from TW repos. It's also a problem with all ESR17 & ESR45 (GTK2) Firefox builds tested, regardless of source. GTK3 Firefox builds tested (all from mozilla.org), e.g. 55 and ESR52 (both of which require corrupting my audio configuration to have sound), all of which suffer https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1022830 have the buttons, but NAICT only because of ~/.config/gtk-3.0/gtk.css that I configured many months ago. Also it's not limited to KDE3. I got same results in IceWM. IOW, I can either have correct UI fonts and no buttons, or I can have buttons with tiny UI fonts, in every Gecko browser, except for opensuse.org's SM 2.48.
Same profiles and mozilla binaries on same machine booted to Debian Stretch with TDE session produce all expected scrollbar buttons. What's openSUSE doing differently from Debian to make Mozilla buttons disappear? What has to be done to make GTK2 builds in openSUSE unconditionally produce the scrollbar buttons that once upon a time appeared regardless of theme? -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive."
