In the night I've downgraded to 131.0.3, and the issue persisted, suggesting that this is not ultimately triggered by FF but some other package. But openSUSE:Factory/xdg-desktop-portal wasn't updated recently, so I wonder… FF about:config "widget.use-xdg-desktop-portal.file-picker" is currently set to 1 for some reason.
