How about someone running a 'one day workshop'?
With a list of demonstrations to be collectively decided on.
(The problem will be catering for beginners and more advanced users in the same session...perhaps split between morning and afternoon).
What I would like is
Setting up a LINUX box (I must say I generally find that easier than windoze)
Configuring the Xserver/video drivers. Configuring Sound, network Configuring Printers (still a bit of mystery to me - unless you have
This sounds like an excellent idea. Rgds James Scott ---------- postscript)
Accessing the server remotely - Telnet, Xserver clients(Humminbird) and
Acorn's Gnome
Setting up and Using VNC (which some see as a cheap alternative to Xserver)
Downloading, unpacking and installing RPM type applications.
Typical Applications - Applix, Netscape, Star Office, GIMP, others?
And (why not) recompiling your own Kernel to include/exclude various bits.
I could offer the facilties for free - but not the expertise! Although I suspect many would prefer London as more 'central' communicationwise.
