[opensuse-edu] openSUSE in schools
Hello Community Some of you might have read the news that Gujarat Education Board has included Linux and Open Source Software in their curriculum for 11th and 12th standard from this year[1]. Baroda High School[2], a group of 4 schools has taken an initiative to familiarize their teachers to Linux, we are conducting a workshop for them on Tuesday, 3 March at their Alkapuri, Baroda school. We will be setting up KIWI-LTSP labs in all their schools so the teachers and students can familiarize themselves with the cool things openSUSE brings for them. Hope to see more schools embrace free software in a big way. Cheers -J [1] http://dev.compiz-fusion.org/~cyberorg/2008/06/22/gujarat-education-boardind... Really cool to hear that. Perhaps we should think about something like a Google-Map of schools using Linux and especially openSUSE in Education? Would be interesting to get some details about the hardware from other schools, too.
