These servers wouldn't happen by any chance to be 212.47.64.2 and 212.47.64.3 (ns2.alcom.co.uk & ns3.alcom.co.uk) by any chance? (Someone needs to read rfc 1912!) If you are using some subnet of 195.144.0.0/16 for your LAN then there are no reverse nameservers for this network. Unless you provide them.

Yep, I changed the setting, (yes, it was the right one!), been tailing the log which works with IdentD (always has!) - and -k reconfigured, and also stopped and started it. Nothing. :(

What have you got in /etc/resolv.conf?

Does "host <any IP on your local network>" give you? If you get "Host 15.146.144.195.in-addr.arpa not found: 3(NXDOMAIN)" or similar then you have no reverse DNS.
