RE: [suse-linux-uk-schools] updating gcc

Are you desperate to use Firebird? We've done some work with it's predecessor, Interbase 6, and to say it was quirky under Linux is an understatement... This sounds very unlikely. What library? What error do you get otherwise?
The application is the Firebird database server. Here is the type of error I get, when trying to start one of its tools: /usr/local/firebird//bin/isql: /usr/local/lib/libstdc++.so.5: no version information available (required by /usr/lib/libfbembed.so.1) regards Richard -- richard@tortoise.demon.co.uk -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: suse-linux-uk-schools-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands, e-mail: suse-linux-uk-schools-help@suse.com

Well, I want stored procs with the ability to return record sets, transactions, and what is I think known as declarative referential integrity. What did you find quirky? Firebird 1 works ok for me, although I've done very little with it. I'm under the impression its stable. The version I'm having difficulty with is a beta release anyway regards Richard -- richard@tortoise.demon.co.uk
