Hi all: Has anyone managed to get Ximian working from download? I have tried on 2 machines at home with 9.0 and both times it downloads fine and installs to about 99.9999% and then crashes out saying that x file is not compatable. Also, at school my colleague has tried to install it on a test machine and with the proxy it downloads about 60% and then says "IO - Soup error". I assume this is security related but I'm not sure on more than that. That machine will not do online updates as in the error log it says that there is no public key for gnpgp. Is that related to Soup? Paul Ps If Michael Brown is reading, my e-mails are bouncing back as spam and my calls are not getting through. I need to order 5-10 NICs from you but need to know the price for the finance manager. Can you let me know on this e-mail address or ptaylor@writhlington.bathnes.sch.uk please. -- ポール, 美弥子 & 小雪

Ximian and SuSe 9.0 don't seem to be playing well together at the moment - I've had trouble with rcx activation, and the installer hanging (rouge scrollkeeper processes). In the past Ximian have been very responsive if you file bug reports (bugs.ximian.com) or if you have an rcx account asking a support question, so I would recommend this to anyone having problems. Soup is the library they use for soap web services - either your proxy isn't web services friendly or their web services don't work with all proxies (worked fine with ours). Paul
