Just to let you all know that OpenOffice 1.1 final got released to-day.
Quite a big improvement and direct export to pdf is a really useful
extra. No doubt it will find its way into the latest Linux dostros soon
If you want it now go to www.openoffice.org - but the web site was
creeking a bit last time looked.

It's *much* quicker, about 50% I reckon. Also seems to do a better job of reading those dreaded .doc files. -- jez Our capacity for understanding is inversely proportional to how much we think we know. The more I know, the more I know I don't know . . . mailto:jez@jezndi.org http://www.jezndi.org

I don't know if it's a new feature, but I've spent this afternoon printing huge images from the OOo Draw (stencils for a room we are decorating). I thought I would have to mess about moving the image around to output the dozen sheets of A4 it would need, but the software detected the oversized image and offered to 'posterize' the image for me. It worked a treat! Cheers -- Phil Driscoll
