Hi All: I used to be able to browse my Doze machine using Konquerer in SuSE 8 but I have up-graded to SuSE 8.1 and it tells me that the smb protocol is not supported. Any ideas how I turn it back on or in which configuration files I need to look? Paul

In Yast check in the 'install software' section that it's still installed - if not, install it. In the 'system->runlevel editor' section check that smb and nmb are enabled for runlevels 3 and 5, and if not, enable them. Check that your /etc/samba/smb.conf file is the same as it used to be, and finally type rcsmb stop and then rcsmb start at the shell prompt. Cheers -- Phil Driscoll
