Internet content filtering
Hi, In an earlier email I posted
can anyone recommend which package I should use for internet content filtering. I >am currently running SuSe 7.2
which I realise begged the question that people _did_ use filtering. What is the balance on this list between explicit filtering versus self-regulation i.e adopting an acceptable use policy? many thanks Darren Garside
Hi, Take a look at the following web-page: http://www.linuxgazette.com/issue81/adam.html Go to the "DansGuardian" section. DansGuardian is a content-based filtering system. I wrote the article myself, so any queries on that, e-mail me. HTH, -- Thomas Adam --- D Garside <darren.garside1@virgin.net> wrote: > Hi,

I'd suggest you need good filtering, and that those who think their AUP works in regard to self-censorship of web content just don't know what goes on. Here we have used the external filtering as provided by RMifl, and it's worked well. Most of the naughty sites accessed have been about the level of our Art Department shows, and much of the access has been by members of the teaching staff. Basically, over the seven years we've used RM, filtering just hasn't been an issue. -- Christopher Dawkins, Felsted School, Dunmow, Essex CM6 3JG 01371-822698, mobile 07816 821659 cchd@felsted.essex.sch.uk
