Re: [suse-linux-uk-schools] ps not working
I've dug up a few URLs regarding the bind exploit. Most people running bind who are not aware of this exploit should read: http://www.cert.org/advisories/CA-2001-02.html and those running RedHat can get new versions from: http://www.redhat.com/support/errata/RHSA-2001-007.html -- Frank *-------*-----*-----*-----*-----*-----*-----*-----*-----*-------* | Boroughbridge | Tel: 01423 323019 | PGP keyID: 0xC0B341A3 | *-------*-----*-----*-----*-----*-----*-----*-----*-----*-------* http://www.esperance-linux.co.uk/
hi all the bind exploit (and things similar) are something we are all exposed to and keeping up to date is tricky. i use Security Portal, HERT (the Hackers Emergency Response Team) and also have a look at Red Hat Network (quick plug :-), as another way of keeping your security patches up to date. Bugtraq, I would have said, is mandatory: http://www.securityfocus.com/forums/bugtraq/faq.html Thanks for posting about HERT, looks like a site worth investigating. -- "Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity." http://www.tuxedo.org/~esr/jargon/html/entry/Hanlon's-Razor.html
