Re: [suse-linux-uk-schools] compatible ethernetcards
Hi,
I tried a Netgear (PCI) card with Linux some time ago - a little finnicky
to set up, but O.K.
We have settled on D-Link DFE-530TX (PCI, Twisted-Pair only, 10/100Mbps
auto negotiation) - they slide in sweet and true, and are recognised by
both Windows (3.1 & 9x) and Linux (Via-Rhine). - Cost about £14.00 from
Action (less in quantity).
At the end of two years in service, they've not (so far) fallen over,
broken down or otherwise turned pear-shaped.
Hope this helps,
Regards,
Paul Ellison
