Re: [suse-linux-uk-schools] Koffice and KDE2
Well.. is it not possible to set a global http_proxy environment ? So no real reason for KDE to duplicate this. Though a simple obvious way through KDE might help. Not actually quite sure how to set this .. is it: setenv http_proxy blah.blah.blah 8080 That of course would be using 'sh' as opposed to 'bash' However, exact syntax.. is it 'proxy.address:port' or 'proxy.address port'

Has anyone installed KDE2? Well - obviously, yes - but anyone here wish to comment on any problems?
It still has the fault of copying the Windows "end user configuration" model. e.g. no obvious way to globally set parameters such as web proxies. Let alone something as sophisticated as stopping an end user (or group of end users) altering things.
The concept of adminstrator configuration (and restriction) appears either lacking or undocumented.
Also kmail still won't read maildir mailboxes, let alone interoperate with sqwebmail.
