X is being very odd :-)
After playing with the CLI on my *really* old made-for-windows linux box, i finally abused xf86config enough to get a sembelence of a GUI running (it's, for some reason, running a 800x600 desktop on a 640x480 resolution). But now when i try to run SaX2 it comes back with and error that the kernel is not in framebuffer mode. how do i set it to framebuffer mode so i can get it working?!?! Have you re-compiled the kernel yourself, or otherwise using a non-standard SuSE kernel? If so, it sound slike Framebuffer support was missed out. It's not really very important, so you could find an alternative method to configure X. - -- Cheers, Chris Howells -- chris@chrishowells.co.uk, howells@kde.org Web: http://chrishowells.co.uk, PGP key: http://chrishowells.co.uk/pgp.txt KDE: http://www.koffice.org, http://edu.kde.org, http://usability.kde.org -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iD8DBQE8dhAsF8Iu1zN5WiwRAg/uAJ9b9JzXG2iwqlferrxNwwOBHmDnjACcCOlC C8vEhpyHarhJgmmdHeSXmfI= =KqeV -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
