Conclusion of Linux distro plans
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, I'm really greatful for all of the comments I got regarding my proposal. Usually I tend to underestimate the size of jobs, and I think that I did so in this case as well ;) Reading all of the comments made me realis just how big a job it would be to start it in the first place, do bug fixes, and maintain it (added to the fact that I'm a C++/Qt/KDE programmer, not C, as most of the kernel and utils are). Added to the work of my A-Levels (finals in three months), I think I'll have to say that it won't happen this time; at least not with me in charge as I'm afraid that I don't think I can sacrifice them time :( Well, I don't think it's a bad idea, and I would love to see it happen some day -- perhaps with somebody else as leader now, or perhaps when I get a little free time. Michael Brown's configuration system sounds excellent. Or perhaps one of the Linux distro (SuSE, Red Hat, Mandrake) could more agressively puruse the education market and persuade people that there is more to life than RM. - -- Cheers, Chris Howells -- chris@chrishowells.co.uk, howells@kde.org Web: http://chrishowells.co.uk, PGP key: http://chrishowells.co.uk/pgp.txt KDE: http://www.koffice.org, http://edu.kde.org, http://usability.kde.org -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iD8DBQE8XOqeF8Iu1zN5WiwRAvSNAJ9L+vljiDxuJjiauB6F6qi7uOJ0kgCgpwxA tPlfFztgxJ6ccVyiLR3Clro= =LEm5 -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
