Hello to all, can anyone advise where I can get a copy of VM ware to run MS programs on a Linux box? I just need an evaluation copy for the time being- VMware's site wants money up front. John Phelan. ICT Admin @ John Kelly Technology College. http://uk2.net

Isn't it on the SuSE distribution? I use VMware on one machine at school because I have to be able to access the Novell NDS - it doesn't get used for anything else! I have my own copy at home because I sometimes have to develop MS based material and it is really useful to run a virtual network on the desktop. It needs processor and RAm power, though! -- Best wishes, Derek Harding, (BA MIAP) ICT & Network Manager hardingd@warlingham.surrey.sch.uk
Hi Check on the cover cd's of Linux Magazine or Linux format as they may have a copy on a back issue, I will have a look for you ITMT, also try looking at a back issue of PC Plus. HTH Paul Sutton PS. If I find a copy on a cd I will burn to a cdr and send if you wish. ----- Original Message ----- From: "John Phelan" <john@johnphelan.net> To: <suse-linux-uk-schools@suse.com> Sent: 29 June 2001 10:03 Subject: [suse-linux-uk-schools] VMware

Does that mean that the evaluation version of VMWare is freely distributable? I haven't looked at the licensing terms; I had just assumed that it would be a "free to download but you may not distribute" type of licence. Michael
Hi Paul Again, A quick look through my cdrom collection Linux Magazine issue 3 has a copy of vm ware on it, it's about 19mb so I can copy to cdrom if you want, I can't copy the whole cd becuase of copyright, but one program should be ok. Just give me an address to send it to, Paul ps. if you use my psutton@uklinux.net address then there is a better chance I will get it, as it won't get lost within the usergroup mailing threads. ----- Original Message ----- From: "John Phelan" <john@johnphelan.net> To: <suse-linux-uk-schools@suse.com> Sent: 29 June 2001 10:03 Subject: [suse-linux-uk-schools] VMware
