As RM customers you get a discounted price as follows per Quarter. £45.00 Evenings £29.25 Weekends Why RM or your BT account manager hasn't told you about this is a mystery! Our last bill was £572.84 ex VAT Our next bill will be £224.25 ex VAT Since my bursar thinks I personally make these calls, he now loves me again! :-) Kind Regards Adrian Wells _______________________________________ Systems Manager Sidcot School Oakridge Lane, Winscombe, Somerset BS25 1PD. RM are normally helpful when you contact them, but they don't seem to inform you of any price reductions and their office/billing system is a bit chaotic. BT, on the other hand, actively work to hide the SIC scheme, no-one there knows anything about it except this number (for this information I ought to charge thousands of pounds, it took me a day or two of hard telephoning to find it): 0800 3283839 which is the Schools Internet Caller centre, as I understand it. There you will find some very helpful people who will arrange to alter your tariff, though you will need to know a) what the destination number is that your router rings b) what your own ISDN number is (or are) c) what your own address, postcode, billing address, name and official telephone number is. and the tariff will be changed at the end of five working days. If you need to change the 0820 number that you dial, you need to work closely with RM because BT change it at an unpredictable time during the next six working days and your system doesn't work unless you spot they've done it and change it on your router, but they can't tell you when they'll do it or when they've done it, except that you know "within three to five working days" normally means "at the end of the fifth working day" although in our case it was nearly two weeks later because they forgot it first time. -- Christopher Dawkins, Felsted School, Dunmow, Essex CM6 3JG 01371-820527 or 07798 636725 cchd@felsted.essex.sch.uk -- Christopher Dawkins, Felsted School, Dunmow, Essex CM6 3JG 01371-820527 or 07798 636725 cchd@felsted.essex.sch.uk
