Hi This is an extract from the StarOffice Licence "3. Educational Institution License To Use. Subject to the terms and conditions of this Agreement, if you are an educational institution, Sun grants you a non-exclusive and non-transferable license for the internal use only of the accompanying unmodified binary form of the Software. In this situation "internal use" means that your enrolled students, faculty and staff may use the Software." OK, internal use means use by enrolled students and staff. But does this stipulate where the software can be used ie. can a member of staff use it at home? Can we give a copy to kids to use for their school work at home? Anyone got any knowledge of how this should be interpreted? Dave Williams

From the small print on this http://www.sun.co.uk/markets/education/promotions/staroffice/ Sun UK StarOffice page: "Under certain conditions it may be possible for educational institutions to distribute StarOffice to Students for use on their personal Desktop or Laptop computers. UK educational Institutions that wish to do this should send an email describing their requirements to edu.reseller@sun.com" -- Damian COUNSELL http://www.counsell.com/
