Schools distribution based on SuSE ...
If you read Linux weekly news (http://lwn.net) you may have noticed that someone has a distribution for schools, based on SuSE. Sounds interesting, but the web site is in German ! Someone has sent in an English description - see : http://lwn.net/2000/0921/a/kmlinux.php3 It would be interestering to know if there are bits that could be picked up, and added to the standard SuSE distribution - a sort of educational 'add-on' package .... ? I waded through the German site, filtering through Babelfish, which can be hours of amusement in itself. It is a client, rather than a server, with a list of installed software at http://www.lernnetz-sh.de/html/projekte/opensource/kmlinux/software.html AFAICT these would already be in SuSE, and in many cases already be available in English, something for anyone who actually has 7.0 can check. I couldn't find a download version to try unfortunately. Here is a list of the apps installed, babelised, which unfortunately means that some of the app names may have changed. Sorry about the formating - it is tab separated and been converted to spaces or something.
