Hello Christopher, I believe you can achieve windows based log onto unix type eviroment via the Samba stuff. This means that a unix (linux) machine could be both a NIS/YP and SMB server to provide user authentication (from the standard unix password systems). That same machine could also provide shared drives via Samba or NFS. I sort of got it working at home, but other 'professionals' probably had more luck. Simon W.
