RE: [suse-linux-uk-schools] next conference.....

Expo is 8th-9th, but it's worth bearing in mind. How many people who went to the conference would be attending/considering attending LinuxExpo? -----Original Message----- From: suse-linux-uk-schools-return-4541-chris=trinityhigh.com@suse.com To: James Spedding Cc: suse-linux-uk-schools@suse.com Sent: 4/29/03 12:34 AM Subject: Re: [suse-linux-uk-schools] next conference..... 10th Oct is, I think, LinuxExpo in London. Things are beginning to move again regarding the next conference.
The suggestion for the location was Birmingham, so I was looking of those in the know to suggest a possible venue (capacity 200 ish plus) which is fairly reasonable priced.
Also the dates of Friday the 10th, 17th or 24th October are in the frame. I'm not sure when half terms are and it would be good to have it on the Friday of the penultimate week of autumn half term. Any other suggestions gratefully received.

I would, depending on my teaching hours for that term. MJR

Is it the 8/9th of May? And where is it being held? I am at Southampton. Mind you, I am not a teacher. I am a student. London Linux Expo is 8-9th of October at Olympia. Students are normally refused tickets. Tickets are free, registration required. AFFS Annual Conference is 17th May at Aston University, Birmingham. Tickets are free, but it is an all-member, all-ticket event. Details are about to appear on http://www.affs.org.uk/ along with the registration form. Non-members who wish to join will be given remaining tickets after members have been given theirs. -- MJR http://mjr.towers.org.uk/ IM: slef@jabber.at This is my home web site. Is there any reason why the next conference can't take place in Wales? First Becta organised event was in Coventry, First OSIE event in Salisbury, next one in Chelmsford - how about Swansea / Cardiff for the next event? (even Llanelli if nobody objects to meeting in a school). Alan

I could offer my school - we have a large hall, access to a promethean board and laptop? If interested I could find out more about hiring the school out. It is in Gowerton, Swansea.
