Sorry about that: I am now roger@suse.co.uk I wanted to see if I could still both post to the list and administer the list. I can't administer, though the people who run the lists tell me I will be able to ... On Sat, 25 Mar 2000, Edgehill E-Mail Service wrote:

When I get mail from this list, it appears to originate from the individual posters, rather than from the list address. So, when I click on Reply in order to respond to a post I have to manually alter the To: line to suse-linux-uk-schools@suse.com This doesnt seem right. In case its relevant, i'm currently using Pegasus on an NT machine. regards Richard richard@tortoise.demon.co.uk

On most mailreading software, there's a choice of various _types_ of reply, eg. an ordinary reply (reply to the address in the From: header, or Reply-To header, if it present); and also a 'group reply' or 'reply-to-all' option. The latter, I guess, is what you are looking for. (Note : This list does not insert a Reply-To: header field, pointing back to the list.)
In case its relevant, i'm currently using Pegasus on an NT machine.
And pegasus mail comes with heaps of documentation ;-) -- Le biblioteche ci hanno dato il potere, poi il lavoro è venuto e ci ha reso liberi. Che prezzo ora, per un piccolo assaggio di dignità...

That happens to me too!
Doesn't happen for other lists that I subscribe to only this one..
So I do this. I "reply-all" and then remove the person email and leave the
suse-linux-uk-school@suse.com . At least that way I do not have to do much
work :-))
BTW, I use outlook express on NT
