I've contacted him. However, the books package, maintained by Rudi is more Linux related (Frank posted the contents.) If you would like to see other documentation I prefer it to be in different packages. This has the advantage that you don't have to install bulky documentation that you are not interested in. :)

Adding "Grokking The GIMP" might be good addition as well.

That is an option. I can add more documentation to the openSUSE build server in the future, however it has a less priority on my list at the moment. OK, very nice. I think it is OK to separate each book into a different RPM package. But I have a problem with the "SUSE Build Server" -- those packages doesn't go on the DVD, therefore it requires an Internet connection. I have computers not connected the net. I need a documentation that's available offline, on the DVD.

Right. I am just started to get used to the openSUSE build server last year. But I intend to move important or needed doc packages to our internal Autobuild for being included in our release (if it's possible.) Do you have some special documentation that you want to see as RPM package on DVD (apart from GIMP)? (Keep in mind there is limited space on a DVD.)

Do you have some special documentation that you want to see as RPM package on DVD (apart from GIMP)?

1. Well, there is an excellent command-line tutorial (made by Mandrake), which really helped me to start learning the command-line. It's very useful. This Book is really *unique*, because it's the only-one I know which is easy to read and understand for beginners. As a bonus this book is relatively up-to-date (2004 updated, so it's relevant) I would like to either include it, or rewrite it and then include it. I don't know, however, if Novell will allow such a move. "Rute" in another excellent (but very old) book about Linux command-line - for Advanced Linux Users. Comming up with 10.1 we could create "Add-on CDs". So perhaps we can evaluate a list of packages which can be added to such an Add-on CD or DVD comming out of the build service.

That's interesting. Do you have some info about those "Add-on CDs" ? links plz.

I don't think that this CD or DVD will make it in the boxed version - but having such a thing for download is perhaps an alternative?

If so, please begin and create a list of packages (and patterns) which can be added to such a CD or DVD and discuss this on our factory mailinglist...

I don't know what we have in our "SUSE Build Severs" so I can't select from it. I do know, however, which Software I would like to see included on the Add-On CDs.

It might be - 15 GB isn't bad at all either.

But I don't think we've enough "whatever"-DVD Players installed in Computers for 10.3...

Of course we won't have enough by 10.3.
