[opensuse-doc] Changing ENV and Makefile?
Hi, any objections changing the ENV and Makefile? I am asking, because the modification will not work with older versions of susedoc. I hope most people updated to the latest version. :) If nobody objects I will commit the changes in the next few days. The main difference is that the variable BOOK is removed from the ENV- files and autogenerated now. If you just keep the previous ENV file, you probably will be able to go on with the old susedoc package, but I would not rely on that. Right, I should have better explained it. The changes affect tree files: 1. .env-profile This is already in our SVN but it is not used at the moment. It contains mainly echo statements and incorporates the system-profile from /usr/share/susedoc/etc/ 2. ENV-lessons4lizards The design of how we detect the respective stylesheets for a book has been changed. For this reason we introduced the LAYOUT variable, deleted some obsolete variables and incorporate the .env-profile. 3. Makefile This file can search in different directories for susedoc now. The DTDROOT variable is build from the result of this search. Of course the overall targets have not changed. It's just to iron out some outstanding issues that we had (bugfixing, simplification, ...). Nothing serious, but you can get in trouble if you have the wrong version of susedoc. Hope you get a feeling about these changes now. :) Bye, Tom -- Thomas Schraitle ---------------------------------------------------------------------- SUSE LINUX GmbH >o) Documentation Specialist Maxfeldstrasse 5 /\\ 90409 Nuernberg _\_v http://en.opensuse.org/Documentation_Team --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-doc+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-doc+help@opensuse.org

Ok, I updated ENV-lessons4lizards and Makefile. Please report any errors. Hi Tom ! Please update http://developer.novell.com/wiki/index.php/Lfl/Lessons_for_Lizards_Quick_Sta... guide. And please tell us how-to update, and which versions are the new requirement and which are obsolete. I have no problem with upgrade itself, but I believe it must be properly documented, and not to feel like a hack. -Alexey --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-doc+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-doc+help@opensuse.org
