[opensuse-doc] new article in LfL: KDE customization
hi all ! I have decided that it is round for another article: "KDE customization" this time saw light, with step-by-step explanations and lot of graphics. I have written and submitted this to the LfL. Welcome to read and comment this ! -- -Alexey Eremenko "Technologov" --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-doc+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-doc+help@opensuse.org

Thanks for your work. I have some two comments only: 1. Use always <guimenu> for menu names and <menuchoice> for a menu cascades. These ensures consistency. 2. About the screenshot of the KDE menu: IMHO it's too big. I would truncate the image horizontally to get half the size. Better adjust the two on the same row (you have to play with GIMP.) With these modifications, I think, the image is better presented and easier to read. Hi Alexey, KDE customizing has already been covered in some detail in the KDE User Guide - see Chapter 2, Customizing Your Settings... This chapter already contains some of the topics you now mentioned in LfL: - customizing your desktop background - customizing the kicker and adding applets, applications etc. - how to show only the windows from the current desktop in the taskbar Please check which topics are already covered in the manuals before heading for new chapters in LfL so we don't end up with some topics covered multiply while other topics (things which have not been documented at all) may need more attention... Thanks! Tanja On Thursday 05 April 2007 23:45 Alexey Eremenko wrote:

- customizing the kicker and adding applets, applications etc. This doesn't cover (in Novell docs) the applets themselves, so I think
You are correct, wallpaperization :) topic covered by Novell docs, other tricks are not. So, I will probably remove this wallpaperization topic from my new article. this should stay... (in my article)
- how to show only the windows from the current desktop in the taskbar OK, so this will be removed too...
to Tom: Yes, of course, I will improve this too :) -- -Alexey Eremenko "Technologov" --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-doc+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-doc+help@opensuse.org
OK, committed a fixed version. -- -Alexey Eremenko "Technologov" --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-doc+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-doc+help@opensuse.org
