[opensuse-doc] Lack of LfL in the latest Alpha !?
Hi all ! As I understand there is a lack of LfL in the latest Alpha of openSUSE 10.3 ! Why is this? I would prefer to see it on the SUSE start menu. -- -Alexey Eremenko "Technologov" --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-doc+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-doc+help@opensuse.org

Yes, that's true.
Why is this? I would prefer to see it on the SUSE start menu.
We were busy with other things, but we will integrate it into one of the next alphas/betas. I think, we should consider how we can improve the text basis. Someone (we, others?) should read it carefully and remove any strange sentences, typos, make it more consistent, etc. What do you think? This is something I do constantly for my material. I proof read it once-in-a-while, update it constantly, improve my XML skills and code, improve material itself, and try to keep it high-quality overall. On the other side, LfL material written by Novell is unfinished/pre-alpha quality. Please don't get this personally. This includes : "KDE Configuration for Administrators" and "Interoperability: Accessing Linux Filesystems from Windows" -Alexey --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-doc+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-doc+help@opensuse.org

Yes, I appreciate your work. :) However, proofreading should not be done by yourself. This should be done by another person. From my experience with writing documentation, never underestimate a good proofreader (thanks Rebecca!). A person how is not emotionally connected with a text can see things that you can not see. For example, after I wrote some text I give my text to my collegues for feedback. I can not proofread my own text, it's like a "blind spot".

Right, I agree. Don't worry. :)

This is the reason why I asked if we should start something like a "proofreading" or feedback round. I think this would improve the overall quality.
